Embossing and Debossing
Embossing and debossing are embellishment techniques that alter the face of the stock to create a three-dimensional effect. Emboss raises the selected surfaces to create the texture, whereas deboss recesses the chosen areas. It has proven extremely popular within the wine and beverage market, commonly used to provide a distinctive premium label design, consequently setting the product aside from the competitors on the shelf. Brands commonly choose to emboss their logos, ensuring an eye-catching and memorable design, but can be used on any part of the label to achieve the effect you desire.
Our machines incorporate the use of custom flatbed emboss and deboss dies. The effect is created by pressing the material in between the die and the counterforce, which produces a raised effect. Often used in combination with hot foil to enhance the effect and really make the label ‘pop’.
